The Israelites and the tour group are now at Mount Sinai, and God has told them to stop and camp there. God called Moses up the mountain, while the others stayed below. The Israelites could not touch the mountain because they are not holy; only God is holy. God and Moses spent a lot of time up on the mountain, and God started to give Moses the ten commandments. God explained that these commandments were meant to show the people who He is.

We focused on the first three commandments which are all about getting our focus on God.  He is the Only God and therefore the only One to worship.  The closer we get to God (or whatever else we worship) the more it affects us and the more we become like that person or thing.  We are meant to live so that He is the only one we worship.  Our lives are meant to be in total submission to His authority.

We looked at the different idols that we worship in our own lives instead of worshiping God.  We make idols out of things, other people and even ourselves.  We talked about how God works to remove idols in our lives.  He is the Only God and made us to be His people.  He loves us so works to remove our dependency on anything other than Him.
