A loving Author, a cowardly dragon, a fighting princess...these are just a few of the characters we saw during the week of VBS. We ended up having almost 100 children! It was a great time for all involved.

Unfortunately, with all the prep that was happening beforehand, the website got neglected. So I'll catch you up on what the past few Sundays have been about.

In the second part of chapter 16, Hagar became pregnant and Sarai began to mistreat her. We learned that God not only sees our situations but takes care of us in them.

In chapter 18 and 19, God came to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, but was willing to be merciful to Lot and his family. God will step in to meet us in our sin and is gracious to rescue us from it.

In chapters 21-22, Isaac is born and he and Ishmael don't get along, so Ishmael is sent away. This is because Ishmael was a product of the flesh, while Isaac was a product of faith, and the two do not get along.

Moving on to chapter 24, Isaac is now a grown man and needs a wife, so he sends out his servant to find him one. The servant trusted God to lead him to exactly the right girl, showing us that God guides us miraculously.

Finally, in chapters 25-27, Rebecca gives birth to Jacob and Esau. Jacob is the schemer, scheming to get what God had promised him. Jacob showed us that the flesh will always scheme to get what it wants instead of trusting God to provide.

Next week, we'll be seeing more of Jacob. Have a wonderful week!
