As Country Director, there isn't really an 'average' day for me--which totally suits my personality. We start the office day together at 8 a.m. for prayer as we pray through our different regions and ministries. If possible, I like to look at my emails the first thing and answer anything that seems urgent—but it’s regularly the last thing I do in my day, as that's when the office is finally quiet and I can work uninterrupted.
By 9 a.m. I'm routinely in a meeting: either a planned institutional or leadership meeting, with a team member or employee, or with the 'unexpected' person or pastor dropping in with a need or prayer request. Where we have missionaries in an institution, I tend to sit on that administrative board (ie. Bembéréké Hospital, Sinendé Bible Institute, Nikki Girls' School, Bible Translation & Literacy etc). So...meetings are sort of a normal thing for me and it does mean traveling a bit.
My particular passion is Leadership Development. Sometimes in a formal way through Servant Leadership & Team Building Seminars, or informally through mentoring young leaders or in a practical way as I give counsel on the different boards. I also meet with the church widows in our city each month for teaching and prayer (about 65 women).
