We continue into our second week of the Psalms. The Psalms have been a bit tricky because there are a lot of abstract ideas that we're trying to teach, but God has inspired us with some great new ideas. This week, we learned about Psalm 15, which talks about being in the House of the Lord. Now, as we've learned on previous Sundays, Jesus lives in our hearts, which is what we talked about.

We started the morning by asking the kids what kind of things would be in God's house. They pointed out various objects that we had on the stage, such as a sword (God protects us and goes to war against our flesh), a monkey (God likes to have fun) and flowers (God made nature and likes beautiful things). Then we asked the kids what wouldn't be in God's house. They said things like lying and stealing wouldn't be in His house.

We then explained that the house we were talking about wasn't in heaven but in our hearts. And when we're fellowshipping with Jesus, and focused on Him, there are certain things you simply aren't able to do, such as lying. When you do things like lying, it's like we step out of God's house, stop fellowshipping with Him and do our own thing.

To show another example of this, we brought Finn the fish. Sherry asked if she could hang out with Finn (by putting her hand in the tank) without getting wet. This, of course, was impossible. She had to get wet to hang out with Finn. The only way to get dry was to leave Finn's home. The same is if we sin. We leave God's house, stop fellowshipping with him before we sin.

Now, to stop fellowshipping with God doesn't mean that the relationship is broken. No matter what, we will always be His kids. To show this, Sherry explained that she and Karlin are aunt and neice. They will always be aunt and niece, even if Karlin were to leave the room, or disobey Sherry, or stop talking to Sherry. They will still always be aunt and niece and nothing will change that.

We finished the morning by showing various skits that reflected different verses in the Psalm. One skit was about how someone who is staying in God's house won't go along with evil people's plans. Another one was about how someone in God's house will keep their promises.
